Best and Worst Vintage Shops In Toronto! For Fashion Rebels
Hello Bohemian Buddies! Are you one of those people who thinks that used clothing is for hipsters or homeless people? Well you're probably right...but, believe it or not, you can find really cute and affordable treasures hidden away in your local secondhand shop!
Enter the Vintage Depot, a more upscale version of a thrift store. I practically begged my fellow Bohemian Blogger Ankita to take me there after she sent me of a photo on snapchat of herself decked out in a sassy leopard print faux coat (for only $45). We braved the cold that day and luckily Vintage Depot did not disappoint!
Upon entering, we were delighted to find racks upon racks of colorful and quirky clothes bursting with personality (think music video worthy). The environment was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We found an array of sequined blouses, abandoned uniforms, and funky hats. My favorite part of the store was their eclectic selection of real and faux fur coats in every color, style and texture you can imagine. And their blazer game was equally on point!
We had so much fun trying on fur coats, leather jackets and ugly Christmas sweaters. Needless to say, vintage shops are always a fashion student's playground especially one as curated and kitsch as this one. We decided to end our vintage shopping adventure by taking a trip on the opposite end of the spectrum a few door down to the local Thriftstore. Thriftstore is a stereotypical low end used clothing retailer. It was crowded, cluttered and while the selection was huge, it much less organized and stylish so it was almost impossible to find anything worth salvaging. As for Vintage Depot, we plan on coming back soon (with money to burn ).
